DELAY THE DISEASE, STRENGHTEN THE BODY

Exercise is an important part of healthy living for everyone. For people with Parkinson’s, exercise is more than healthy: it is a vital component to maintaining balance, mobility and the ability to perform activities of daily living. Key ingredients to help manage the symptoms of Parkinson’s will incorporate the components of Tai Chi & Fitness exercise. Tai Chi is known for its slow, fluid movements. The central premise in Tai Chi is to integrate the mind and body. It promotes balance, flexibility, muscular strength, and increase levels of psychological well-being and reduction of anxiety and stress. The Fitness components will incorporate exercises that focus on strength and endurance. Strength exercise will combine functional movement with core strengthening. Endurance will work on larger muscular movement over duration of time. Individuals with other neurological conditions are also welcome to join the class!
