Y’s Kids School Age Child Care
Our Y’s Kids Before and After School-Age Child Care program has been in operation for 25 years. We serve children ages 5-13 and currently have over 300 children enrolled in the program. We are located in all of Westfield’s elementary schools, the YMCA and also at the Southwick Town Hall. The program is directed by Michelle Anamisis, a certified state of Massachusetts educator, who had been administering the program for the past seven years. Over our 25 years of operation we have earned the trust of parents, teachers and administrators alike. Here is what some of our Westfield Elementary School principals have said about our program.
“We have been fortunate to have the YMCA offer both before and after school child care on site at Southampton Road School. Reliable and structured, this program offers working parents a safe and affordable daycare. Excellent coverage, responsive supervision through the YMCA, and financial assistance are hallmarks of this popular program. A long record of quality care offers both parents and school personnel comfort in knowing that children are in safe hands.”
Kathy MacLean – retired principal Southampton Road School
“I like the fact that the staff tailors activities to each child, even doing some planning with the kids so that the kids feel they have some say in the activities. The Y’s Kids child care is a great program; the kids are safe, there’s a good variety of activities and the staff is great.”
Leslie Clark-Yvon – principal Franklin School
“There has always been excellent communication beteween the Y and the school. Many a time we have exchanged information with the Y and vice versa, so that we are together able to help our kids and their families.”
Jim Kane – principal Highland School
“When parents inquire about the availability of before and after school care for their children, I can confidently recommend the Y’s Kids program at Paper Mill as an excellent choice, both as an educator and as a parent. My son Luke is a participant!
Susan Dargie – principal Paper Mill School
